The latest round of Sony e-mail leaks include correspondence between Sony Pictures Entertainment CEO Michael Lynton and Snapchat owner Evan Spiegel, revealing that Snapchat had discussed teaming up with Twitter, and with Vevo as a means to bring music to the app. Also revealed was that Spiegel had turned down closer to $4 billion when Facebook offered to buy Snapchat last year, when the originally reported number was $3 billion.
Hardly a massive revelation the likes of which the other Sony e-mail leaks contained, including news that American Hustle director David O. Russell had a thing for his 19-year-old transgender niece, or that major Hollywood producers think Angelina Jolie is an idiot.
For some reason, Evan Spiegel released this memo to his employees earlier and then saw fit to share it with the world so they could think he’s a giant cry baby too:
I shared this with our team today and I wanted to share it with our partners and friends bc I think it’s important. pic.twitter.com/eN5HpAhp42

This bit in particular….
I felt like I was going to cry all morning, so I went on a walk and thought through a couple of things. I even ran into one of my high school design teachers. She gave me a huge hug. I really needed it.
Boo hoo, cry us a river. Is he being serious or what? Those leaks are pretty standard business discussions the likes of which go on all the time. Nothing controversial about this information whatsoever but yet the billion-dollar CEO of the company is by his own admission crying and asking for people to feel sorry for him on social media, when in fact he’s one of the lucky ones.
Imagine how Jennifer Lawrence must’ve felt when 4chan leaked her nudes? That was 10x worse than this and she dealt with it like a champ instead of crying on social media. Come on Evan Spiegel – it’s not that bad. Grow up!
